About Us

Marma It stems from the desire to reinterpret the richness of Colombian craftsmanship from a contemporary perspective.

Our History

A contemporary vision of craftsmanship.

After discovering the work of indigenous communities in the Colombian Amazon, the idea arose to build a brand that connected craftsmanship, design, and sensitivity.

Today, Marma works directly with indigenous artisan communities, creating pieces where tradition and contemporary design coexist naturally.

Our history

Marma began after a trip to the Colombian Amazon.

There I discovered the artisanal work of indigenous communities and understood that behind each piece there was much more than technique: there was time, memory and knowledge passed down between generations.

Over the years I continued to surround myself with handmade objects and understood how they could transform the way a person feels, dresses, and relates to what they use.

While living outside of Colombia, I constantly returned to the same idea: the need to showcase the country's artisanal wealth from another perspective.

Not from the souvenir.

Not from a folkloric perspective.

But from a more contemporary and global perspective.

Later, during my second master's degree, Marma became my thesis project. Upon returning to Colombia, I decided to build the brand I had envisioned for years.

Today, Marma works directly with indigenous artisan communities to create pieces where traditional craftsmanship engages in dialogue with a contemporary and carefully curated aesthetic.

Our Vision

Marma seeks to build a platform that connects indigenous craftsmanship and contemporary design through honest and direct collaborations with artisan communities.

The brand's vision is to work with different communities in Colombia — and eventually Latin America — creating objects that allow traditional techniques to be preserved while finding new ways of existing within the contemporary universe.

Philosophy

Each piece retains something unique.

The variations in color, shape, and texture are part of the manual process and reflect the natural rhythm of how it was created.

At Marma we believe in objects made with intention, in processes that take time and in pieces that acquire meaning with use.
